Morris Museum of Art 4th Annual Print Fair

January 11, 2010 – 1:42 pmNo Comment

The Morris Museum of Art is holding its Fourth Annual Print Fair on Saturday, January 30, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the museum’s first-floor auditorium and lobby. Leading artists, art dealers, and ateliers are offering a wide variety of original, artist-signed, limited-edition works of art—etchings, lithographs, woodblock prints, and monotypes—on sale for one day only.

“We are thrilled to have eight new artists attend this year from Atlanta, Augusta, and Athens, Georgia, and Greenville, South Carolina,” said Lauren Powell , the Morris Museum’s membership services coordinator. “These new additions, coupled with those vendors who have attended in the past, will create a dynamic selection.”

“Print fair is a wonderful opportunity for budding art collectors,” said Kevin Grogan, director of the Morris Museum of Art. “It provides them with an opportunity to learn about artists and their work—interesting, contemporary work they can afford. It is also a favorite of experienced collectors who are seeking to add to their existing collections.”

Hosted by the Morris Collectors, one of the museum’s affiliate groups, this year’s fair features such leading dealers as Hampton3 Gallery from Taylors, South Carolina and Augusta’s Tire City Art Gallery, both showing and selling the work of nationally, internationally, and locally renowned printmakers; artists’ atelier King Snake Press from Greenville, South Carolina, representing the work of more than a dozen artists; Augusta State University art professor Kristin Casaletto; ASU gallery director, artist Jack Cheatham; University of Georgia professors and artists Melissa Harshman and Jon Swindler; Savannah College of Art and Design professor and artist Dale Clifford, and artists Kent Ambler, Suzy Schultz, Andrea Emmons, and Katherine Linn.

Print prices start at just $10.00 and admission to the event is free. Members of Morris Collectors affiliate group receive a ten percent discount on any purchase made during the event.
