Bonhams Motor Cars Sale at Musée des Voitures du Prince in Monaco

March 6, 2010 – 5:46 pmNo Comment

Bonhams is delighted to unveil a superb selection of collectors’ cars as part of its annual sale of motor cars and automobilia in Monaco on 30th April 2010. This year, the annual Les Grandes Marques à Monaco celebrates its 21st consecutive year and takes place at the Musée des Voitures du Prince.

Leading the charge, a 1950 Ferrari 166/195S Cabriolet by Vignale is expected to fetch in the region of one million euros. From the same marque is a very rare and sought after ‘alloy bodied’ 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB (estimate 680,000 – 840,000 euros) as well as an early 1989 Ferrari F40, formerly owned by Michel Neugarten, which has raced in the Italian GT championship and the BPR series, estimated at 230,000 – 280,000 euros. A rare 1976 ‘vetroresina’ Ferrari 308 GTB 1976 (estimate 50,000 – 80,000 euros) is also expected to drive lots of interest.

Two beautifully presented former Concours winners also feature in the sale: an immaculately restored European delivery left hand drive Jaguar XK120 Roadster (estimate 75,000 – 115,000 euros) and a Lancia Appia Zagato GTE (estimate 50,000 – 70,000 euros). Further Lancias include a rare 1968 Flaminia Super Sport, formerly the property of Rowan Atkinson (estimate 120,000 – 150,000 euros), a beautifully prepared fourth series Lancia B20 with full Nardi kit (estimate 90,000 – 120,000 euros) and last but by no means least a very rare and desirable Lancia Fulvia HF ‘works car’ with San Remo winning rally history.

Furthermore for pre-war collectors a 1938 Welsh rally winning Jaguar SS 100, which was driven by Mrs. Hetherington, will be on offer in the Principality.

No Monaco sale would be complete without a Fiat 500 Jolly, and this sale offers an original cabriolet in pink (estimate 20,000 – 30,000 euros).

A competition prepared Citroen SM Maserati, which participated in the Tour Auto 2009, is expected to fetch between 40,000 and 60,000 euros and a 365 horsepower 1971 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with hardtop (estimate 35,000 – 40,000 euros) is surely ideal for a leisurely drive along the Corniche, unless your preference for such outings goes to a nimble black Porsche 356 A speedster in mint condition estimated at 140,000 – 160,000 euros.
