The Life and Times of Paddington Bear™ at Reading Museum

March 17, 2010 – 11:39 amNo Comment

Celebrating the famous bear from Darkest Peru and his creator, Michael Bond, who spent his childhood in Reading. This exciting exhibition tells the story from the very first book A Bear Called Paddington, published in 1958, to the most recent title in the series Paddington: Here and Now, published in 2008 – exactly fifty years later.

Discover how the idea for Paddington began on Christmas Eve 1956 and how various illustrators, from Peggy Fortnum to R.W. Alley, have developed the way he looks in books and on the television.

The exhibition opens on Saturday, March 27 and runs until Sunday, July 4.
