New Website Promotes Philadelphia Parkway Museums District

March 19, 2010 – 2:24 pmNo Comment

“The website is designed to give people a good sense of what’s on the Parkway, and get them excited about visiting the area. It’s a truly exceptional destination, and we need to spread the word. Where else can you find so many world class cultural and educational institutions in such a beautiful park setting” said Judi Rogers, Executive Director of the Parkway Council Foundation, which has 15 members, including museums, schools and businesses.

The site features highlights from each member organization. It includes destination highlights, as well as location, hours, ticket information and more, along with links to the organizations’ own websites. A feed from phillyfunguide.com delivers current news about events on the Parkway. Site visitors can “fan” the Parkway Museums District Facebook page, and “follow” a Twitter feed with up-to-the-minute information from all members in a single stream. An interactive map enables users to bring up information about each destination, link to its website, and/or get driving directions. Information is organized to meet the needs of various audiences, including adults, families, students and teachers, and out-of-town visitors.

The new site also includes a fantastic coupon good for $2 off adult admission (for up to four adults) at six Parkway institutions. To print the coupon, visit www.parkwaymuseumsdistrict.org.

The site was designed by NetReach, a professional web development and software company based in Ambler, Pa. Built with NetReach’s content management system (CMS) software, cmScribe, the site presents each organization’s information in a consistent format, and allows each member to update its own information without any special programming skills.
