Kentucky Derby Museum Re-Opens

April 19, 2010 – 3:05 pmNo Comment

The Kentucky Derby Museum has re-opened to the public, after flash flooding last August. Damage totaled nearly $4.5 million.

“We are literally new from top to bottom,” Kentucky Derby Museum Communications Director Wendy Treinen said.

Treinen also said 85 percent of the exhibits are brand new, new graphics and technology included.

Triple Crown-winning jockeys Ron Turcotte, who rode Secretariat in 1973, and Jean Cruguet, who rode Seattle Slew in 1977, helped cut the red ribbon to open the renovated museum
