KAI Texas has been selected as the project designer for the new home for the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.

KAI will guide the architectural design for a multi-million dollar renovation to a 31,000-square-foot space at 3520 E. Berry Street, Fort Worth, that will house the new museum. The facility opens in 2013.

“We are proud to be part of this relatively new cultural institution that pays homage to the often forgotten pioneers of color of the old west,” said Darren L. James, AIA, President and COO of KAI Texas.

Through permanent and traveling exhibits, hands-on programs and educational efforts, the museum acknowledges the contributions of Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, European Americans, and African Americans in the settlement of the Western American frontier.
