The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has unveiled plans for a comprehensive redesign of the four-block-long outdoor plaza that runs in front of its landmark Fifth Avenue façade, from 80th to 84th Streets in Manhattan. Takashi Murakami in the Chateau de Versailles

The Château de Versailles will present an exhibition by Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami, open 14 September through 12 December 2010.

Takashi Murakami, is a contemporary Japanese artist who works in both fine arts media, such as painting, as well as digital and commercial media. He blurs the boundaries between high and low art. He appropriates popular themes from mass media and pop culture, then turns them into thirty-foot sculptures, “Superflat” paintings, or marketable commercial goods such as figurines or phone caddies.

The Palace of Versailles, is a royal château in Versailles, the Île-de-France region of France. In French, it is known as the Château de Versailles.
