Sioux City Public Museum Exhibit Extended into November

The Sioux City Public Museum’s temporary exhibit, “The 38th Parallel Revisited: The Korean War” has been extended. The exhibit was originally scheduled to close this weekend, but will now remain on display through November 14.

The new closing date was selected so that the exhibit would remain on display through Veterans Day.

“The 38th Parallel Revisited: The Korean War” showcases Korean War era (1950- 1953) military uniforms, weaponry and equipment from the first large-scale military conflict of the Cold War. The exhibit includes a review of major battles like Pusan Perimeter, Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir; major figures like U.S. President Harry S. Truman, General Douglas MacArthur, General Matthew Ridgway and South Korean President Syngman Rhee; and home front activities here in Sioux City.

The Sioux City Public Museum is housed in the historic John Peirce Mansion at 2901 Jackson Street in Sioux City. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
