New Sioux City Public Museum Construction Underway

October 28, 2010 – 5:38 amNo Comment

Construction is underway for a dynamic new museum in Sioux City.

The new facility at the former JC Penney building, will contain 10,000 sq. feet of permanent exhibit space, multipurpose classrooms, administrative offices, artifact and exhibition preparation rooms, a research facility, an orientation theater, large temporary exhibit spaces, archival storage, and a gift shop. The Sioux City Public Museum will take up the first floor of the former JC Penney’s structure

A lack of space at the present location, Peirce Mansion at 2901 Jackson St, has necessitated the move.
