Open Nov. 9 – Jan. 30, 2011 “The Story of John Hendrix: Oak Ridge’s Prophet” exhibition takes a look at the life of John Hendrix and his prediction for Oak Ridge. AMSE Lobby.

Nov. 11 “AMSE Thanks Veterans” – both active duty and retired veterans, who show their military identification, receive free AMSE admission to thank you and honor all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Nov. 12 “Discovery Shop 20% Discount Day” on all Regular Priced merchandise including science and history books, kits, games, clothing, puzzles and Oak Ridge souvenirs. The AMSE Discovery Shop is open from 10:30 am – 4:45 pm.

Nov. 19 “Registration Deadline for Homeschool Program” What’s Your Angle scheduled Dec. 3 for Grades K-2 at 10:30 am for one hour and Chemistry: It’s Elemental for Grades 3 – 6 at 12:30 pm for two hours. Cost and registration information at www.amse.org or come by AMSE. Museum Classroom

The American Museum of Science and Energy, located at 300 South Tulane Avenue in Oak Ridge, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm and Sunday 1 – 5 pm. Admission is Adults $5, Seniors (65+) $4, Youth (6-17) $3 and Children (5 and under) free. Group rates are available for 20 or more with advance reservations. AMSE memberships, good for 12 months from date of purchase, are Family $35, Grandparents $30, Individuals $25 and Family & Friends $75. Benefits of AMSE membership include unlimited AMSE visits and free admission to 250 museums that participate in the ASTC Passport Programs. AMSE members also receive discounts on Discovery Shop merchandise, discounts on classes, workshops, camps, birthday parties and facility rental. AMSE is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. AMSE is a member of the Association of Science Tecnology Centers and the Smithsonian Institution Affiliates.
