National Museum of the Morgan Horse Opens in Middlebury

The National Museum of the Morgan Horse has opened in it’s new home in Middlebury.

The museum tells the story of the Morgan horse. The Morgan is one of the earliest horse breeds developed in the United States and named after Justin Morgan (February 28, 1747 – March 22, 1798) a U.S. horse breeder and composer.

The Museum’s Main Hall contains changing special exhibits and there are free “Information Sheets”, as well as general educational materials. A research library and archives are open for the serious researcher by appointment.
