Fotografiska Presents Fashion: Fashion Photography Through Time

Fotografiska presents Fashion – Fashion Photography Through Time, featuring more than 200 works by 51 internationally famous photographers, this is the most comprehensive exhibition of fashion photography ever to be shown in Europe.

Fashion reflects the development of fashion photography over the decades, from Man Ray’s experimental compositions in the 1920s, via iconic figures such as Irving Penn and Richard Avedon, to the supermodel cult fostered by Steven Meisel and Peter Lindbergh in the 1990s. A few acclaimed 21st-century photographers are also featured, including Michelangelo Di Battista, Mikael Jansson and Esther Haase.

Fashion is on view now and closes on 2 January, 2011. The exhibition is based on selected works from the Camera Works collection in Berlin.

About Fotografiska
On May 21, 2010 Fotografiska opened its doors for the first time to exhibit some of the world’s most respected photographers: Annie Leibovitz, Lennart Nilsson, Joel-Peter Witkin and Vee Speers. The museum aims to provide an international center for the exchange of knowledge and experiences surrounding contemporary photography. With its 2,500 square meters of exhibition space, Fotografiska is one of the world’s largest forums for photography as well as a complement and challenge to Sweden’s publicly financed museums.
