The British Museum will present Coming forth by day. A performance at the museum Friday 3 December, 18.30.
Enjoy a specially commissioned theatrical work by Unclaimed Creatures which explores mortality, loss and the soul’s journey after death. As a young doctorate student prepares a lecture on the Book of the Dead, she struggles to make sense of her mother’s death and a dying love affair. Directed by Anna Brownsted, designed by Rachael A Smith.
Related to the exhibition Journey through the afterlife: ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead. This exhibition will for the first time explain the content and meaning of the famous and enigmatic Egyptian Book of the Dead – a collection of prayers, hymns, instructions and rituals which provided the dead with the special knowledge they would need to make a safe passage to the afterlife.
