Nanaimo Museum Presents Literary Luminaries

February 9, 2011 – 10:44 amNo Comment

The Nanaimo Museum presents Literary Luminaries on February 26, 2011.

As part of National Heritage week the Nanaimo Museum once again is hosting twelve local authors with a range of writing styles. They will speak about their work and be available for questions and book signings. They said how much they enjoyed the opportunity last year to learn about each others different writing styles and our visitors stayed to listen to all of them. Works being presented this year include history, poetry, culture, children’s stories and books for young adults.

The authors include Peggy Grigor, Carol Matthews, Mary Murphy, Joyce Yardley, Lyn Hancock, Emily Madill, Mary Palmer, Jan Peterson, Tom Roulstone, Ken Joubert, and Charles Reid.

The Nanaimo Museum is the guardian of the Bastion, a former Hudson’s Bay Company outpost that was built in 1853. The museum provides a site interpreter to share the fascinating stories of the lives of early settlers and the significance of the Bastion to Nanaimo.
