Vacaville Museum Hosts African Arts Festival

The Vacaville Museum will host an African Arts festival with featured artists reception will take place March 25 and March 26 following the closing weekend of the museum’s exhibition Africa We Connect on March 20, 2011. The event will also include a gallery show and sale featuring local artists inspired by Africa. Some of the exhibiting artists include Phil Glashoff, Lisa Rico, Erika Van DeWerk, Sheila Sharmain, and Richard Rico. A portion of all art sales benefit the Museum.

The Vacaville Museum, a Center for Solano County History, is the only institution whose mission includes cultural and historical preservation for all of Solano County. Through exhibits, publications and educational programs, the Museum continuously promotes the value of community heritage. Since 1984, Vacaville Museum has produced 40 exhibits, as well as numerous publications important to the history and sense of place of Solano County.
