Lost City Museum Announces Adult Archaeology Day May 28

The Lost City Museum will be hosting Adult Archaeology Day on May 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., which will allow adults to learn the process of archaeology by participating in a mock excavation and learning how to analyze artifacts in the laboratory. Students will learn from professional archaeologists about archaeology in a hands-on way, from the excavation phase of an archaeological investigation to the laboratory phase. Space is limited to 12 people so sign up early. A lecture, open to the public, on the ceramics of the prehistoric Fremont Indians will be held that same day at the museum at 3:00 p.m. For more information or to sign up for the event, please call the museum at (702) 397-2193.

The Lost City Museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00; children and members enter free. The museum is located in Overton, Nevada on State Route 169 off I-15, exit #93 or via Lake Mead or the Valley of Fire.

The Lost City Museum is one of seven managed by the Division of Museums and History, an agency of the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs.
