National Museum of Scotland Opens A Passion for Glass

May 24, 2011 – 2:38 pmNo Comment

The National Museum of Scotland presents A Passion for Glass an exhibition collection of modern glass recently gifted to National Museums Scotland by Alan J Poole and Dan Klein on view from 20 May 2011 through 11 September 2011.

Dan and Alan began collecting in the late 1970s and over the subsequent thirty years assembled one of the most comprehensive collections of modern British and Irish glass. This exquisite collection includes work by over one hundred makers at the very cutting edge of their art.

A Passion for Glass will be the first chance to see these objects and find out about these makers and the skills used to create these remarkable pieces.

A Passion for Glass will be part of the Edinburgh Art Festival, Scotland’s largest annual festival of visual art from 4 August-4 September 2011.
