National World War II Museum Memorial Day Saluting Service and Sacrifice

The National World War II Museum has unveiled a new website mymemorialday.org, featuring 10 ways to honor those who have fallen in the service of their country. The Museum will also host a day of events, on Monday, May 30, 2011, designed to honor and remember.

9:00 am – 10:00 am Memorial Hall — An opportunity to meet with veterans
9:30 am – 10:30 am “Saving History: Preserving Your Family Story” (Session 1)
10:00 am – 10:20 am Performance — Navy Band New Orleans
10:30 am – 11:30 am Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm “Saving History: Preserving Your Family Story” (Session 2)
2:30 pm – 3:00 pm Performance — The Victory Belles
3:00 pm – 3:10 pm Traditional Observance of a Moment of Silence
Ringing of the Normandy Victory Bell
