The Bell Museum of Natural History unveiled the newest addition to its Northwoods plaza on December 12, 2011. The new sculpture highlights the ten bas-relief carvings of iconic Minnesota animals that adorn the Bell Museum’s façade. The originals were created in the late 1930’s in the Late Art Deco style by renowned sculptor Samuel H. Bell, son of the museum’s namesake, James Ford Bell.
