Hofstra University Museum Announces The Disappearing Landscape. Selections from the Collection

The Hofstra University Museum presents The Disappearing Landscape: Selections from the Hofstra University Museum Collection an exhibition on view January 23- March 18, 2012 in the David Filderman Gallery.

This original exhibition features 27 drawings, paintings, photographs, prints and sculpture from the Museum’s permanent collection created by international artists from the United States, Russia and Japan, among other countries. The works of art date from the early 19th century to the 21st century. Featured artists include: Alexander Calder, Harry Callahan, Lucien Clergue, Currier & Ives, Edwin Dickinson, Sally Gall, April Gornik, James McDougal Hart, Katsushika Hokusai, Donald Resnick, Yevgeny Rukhin, Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin and Michael A. Smith. These works illustrate the artistic need to capture the ever-changing and disappearing global landscape.
