STAR TREK Actor Robert Picardo boldly goes to the SLSC on February 3

ST. LOUIS – Emmy®-nominated actor Robert “Bob” Picardo, from television’s Star Trek: Voyager, will discuss his experiences as an actor with the popular entertainment franchise at the Star Trek First Friday on February 3, 2012 at 8:00 pm, in May Hall at the Saint Louis Science Center.

With appearances in film (Star Trek: First Contact), plus multiple Star Trek television series and video games, Robert Picardo is the only Star Trek regular to have written a television episode for the popular franchise – the season six (1995) episode of the Star Trek: Voyager series entitled “Life Line.” An accomplished actor, Picardo was nominated for an Emmy Award for his role as Mr. Cutlip on the ABC Series The Wonder Years. He was also awarded the Viewer For Quality Television Founders Award for his outstanding performances in The Wonder Years, and as a military surgeon “Dr. Richard” on China Beach.

Picardo’s appearance is part of the Saint Louis Science Center’s Star Trek First Fridays, which take place on the first Friday of each month from 6-10:00 pm throughout the exhibition’s run. On these nights, there is a special evening rate for Star Trek: The Exhibition ($12 for adults), a free telescope viewing outside the James S. McDonnell Planetarium and free parking. There are also hands-on activities that explore the science of the Star Trek phenomenon, plus music and food.

Following Picardo’s presentation on Friday evening, February 3, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions and get his autograph. The fee for autographs is $25.00 (cash only), and Mr. Picardo will sign either his provided photographs or any one item that fans provide. And then at 10:00 pm, Robert Picardo will introduce two of his favorite Star Trek: Voyager episodes, which will be shown consecutively in the OMNIMAX® Theater.

Autographs by Robert Picardo will also be available on Saturday afternoon, February 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm outside the Star Trek exhibition for $25.00 (again, cash only).
