MOCA GA Announces the 2012 MOCA GALA Art Auction Fundraiser On Saturday, April 21

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA) announces its annual MOCA GALA Art Auction 2012 on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at its exhibition galleries on Bennett Street. Honorees for MOCA GALA 2012 are two of Atlanta’s most well-known and well-loved art supporters, Carolyn and Gudmund Vigtel. The GALA Committee includes Sara and Jeffrey Hehir as Host Committee co-chairs and Philip and Melissa Babb as Event co-chairs and Patron Party hosts. The ever delightful Jim Landon will serve as auctioneer for the evening, and glasses will be raised in celebration of MOCA GA’s 10-year anniversary. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails and a buffet dinner. Silent auction items will be available for bid beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 15 minutes after the close of the Live Auction. The Live Auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $150/person.

For the Live and Silent Auctions, Annette Cone-Skelton, MOCA GA’s Director, has selected affordable, high quality works of art by an invitation-only, select group of some of Georgia’s best artists, including: Beverly Buchanan, Lucinda Bunnen, Andrew Crawford, Brian Dettmer, Gyun Hur, David Landis, Rocio Rodriguez and Larry Walker.

“At MOCA GA, we strive to channel the backing we receive from the community into expanded recognition and support of Georgia art and artists,” stated Annette Cone-Skelton.

“MOCA GA’s annual auction and sale brings together many of the leading arts supporters and patrons of the Atlanta metro area,” stated Susan Tucker, MOCA GA Board Chair.
