The Biggs Museum in Dover presents As the Poet Paints. E. Jean Lanyon, an exhibition on view now through Sunday, April 29.

As the Poet Paints features the literary and visual artworks of the 1979-2001 Delaware Poet Laureate E. Jean Lanyon:

“As a Fine Artist I paint what I cannot write, and I write what I cannot paint.”

The dual nature of this artist’s personal expression will take form in a comprehensive exhibition of her artistic career in Delaware.

The Biggs Museum offers changing exhibitions throughout the year relating to historical and contemporary art topics. Intimate galleries offer guests an unexpected and personal experience with the collection. The museum supports the public education of art through educational programming for adults and children and special events designed to bring art to everyone.
