National Museum of Flight presents Red Arrows on 28 July

The National Museum of Flight at East Fortune, East Lothian presents the Red Arrows on 28 July, 2012. Tickets for the Airshow are now on sale and Museum staff expect visitor numbers to exceed the 11,500 that attended last year’s event.

Red Arrows

In addition to the Red Arrows in their British Aerospace Hawk aircraft, this year’s line-up so far includes a Royal Navy Sea King search and rescue helicopter, a Hawk T1 jet trainer, a King Air RAF trainer and a P51 Mustang as well as a 1941 Tiger Moth biplane, a 1945 Sea Fury aircraft and a Tucano T1 trainer. There will also be exciting aerobatic displays from the RV8ters and the SWIP Team Twister Duo. In a first for East Fortune, a 1941 Fairey Swordfish Mk.1 biplane will be part of the display as will a 1935 Avro Anson, an example of which can be seen on the ground in the Museum’s own collection.

The RAF Falcons Parachute Display team will attend after a five-year absence, jumping from their Cessna Caravan aircraft and the Airshow will also feature an OH-6 military scout helicopter which was designed for use by the US Army in Vietnam.

On the ground, the event will have a host of entertainment, demonstrations and food and drink.

All of the National Museum of Flight’s hangars will be open for visitors to explore with highlights including supersonic icon Concorde.

The Airshow at the National Museum of Flight, East Fortune takes place on Saturday 28 July from 10am until 5pm. Tickets can be purchased online, at the gate or by calling 0300 123 6789. Discounts are available for advance booking.
