Corning Museum of Glass iPhone Mobile App

The Corning Museum of Glass, which features more than 45,000 objects from 35 centuries of glass art and history, offers a mobile app with information about its collection and related glassmaking techniques.

The app, available in iTunes and on the Android Market for $1.99, includes more than 100 objects in the Museum’s collection, with detailed information provided in text, images, audio and video. It also includes videos of glassmaking processes and properties to give visitors the opportunity to see how different types of glass pieces are made.

A child-friendly section includes fun facts about select objects and information tailored to kids’ learning needs.

Visitors to the Museum can also rent iPod touch® devices with the app for $3 per person.
