Michener Art Museum Dedicates New Education Space with a Community Celebration

DOYLESTOWN, PA – When the Michener Art Museum opened the Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion for lectures, Jazz Nights and special events in April, the museum’s education center got a makeover and reopened as a dedicated Education Center and Gallery, with three fully-equipped classrooms. Participants in this summer’s camp programs have been fully enjoying the new space, producing artwork that is… museum quality, and hanging in the new gallery!

In order to show off this new space to the entire community, the museum is hosting a special celebration on Friday, July 20, 3-6 pm. There will be a performance by the Arts of Latin America Camp in the Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion at 3 pm, and student exhibitions from Latin American Arts, Book Illustration, Anime and more in the Education Center. From 4-6 pm there will be family activities in the classrooms.

Light refreshments will be served. Admission to the Education Center is free and does not include admission to the museum galleries. Lead Sponsor for the Education Gallery is First Savings, with additional support from Morrie Breyer and FACT, Bucks County.

The education staff and the Michener Art Museum look forward to showing off this new space!
