Monterey Artists Abroad presents a selection of European paintings and drawings by celebrated artists of the Monterey Peninsula Art Colony. Like generations of American artists before them, these Monterey artists traveled to the art centers of Paris and other European capitals to study and immerse themselves in the rich history of Western art.

The Monterey Museum of Art collects, preserves, and interprets the art of California from the nineteenth century to the present day, within a national and international context.
