New Mexico Museum of Space History and International Space Hall of Fame Hosts Great Bowls Of Fire Chili Cook-off

New Mexico Museum of Space History and International Space Hall of Fame will be hosting the second annual “Great Bowls Of Fire Chili Cook-Off” this Saturday, October 6, in the upper parking lot of the museum. The event is sponsored by United Way of Otero County and Burt Broadcasting and benefits area non-profit organizations. Tasting cups will go on sale to the public at noon. The cook-off will feature both red and green chile categories.

Proceeds from the sale of tasting cups, entry fees and sponsorships raised at the event will be split between the designated charities, after expenses. A People’s Choice Loving Cup will also be awarded along with $100 cash prize to the team with the best decorated booth. A group of local celebrity judges have volunteered their palates for the official chili judging.

A special “People’s Choice” trophy will be given to the team with the most chili tasting tickets at the end of the cook-off. Tasting cups will be $2 each and will come with ten tickets. Each ticket equals one taste. The public can spend a ticket at each booth, or all their tickets at one booth, or spread them around. – www.nmspacemuseum.org
