Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum announces Christmas in the Barrio, with Patricia Preciado Martin

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum announces Christmas in the Barrio, with Patricia Preciado Martin on Dec 4, 2012.

Visit barrios, markets, historic sites and more for a glimpse of Tucson’s rich Mexican history and Christmas traditions with noted author/oral historian Patricia Preciado Martin. Martin’s treasured stories are rooted in oral histories she collected during decades of observing and gathering the customs of daily life, including religious observations, fiestas and food of her beloved Mexican-American people. Patricia’s holiday stories will bring this history to life for you! Mid-day, we’ll pause to savor lunch! You’ll enjoy a full day of learning plus lots of holiday fun and joy that you may choose to incorporate into your own family traditions! This uniquely personal and memorable day includes transportation, lunch, moderate walking and great photo opportunities.

This trip is co-sponsored by the Desert Museum and Baja’s Frontier Tours. Registration is being handled by Piet & Mary Van de Mark at 887-2340 or [email protected] All-day. Times to be determined and announced to participants. Special cancellation policy applies.
