National Portrait Gallery Teen Portrait Competition

The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery has opened a “call for entries” for its second annual Teen Portrait Competition. Artists between the ages of 13 and 17 may submit portraits to the juried competition in all media at npgteenportrait.org.

All submissions will be reviewed online. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20.

The two grand-prize photos will be printed and displayed at the National Portrait Gallery in 2014, and the grand-prize and 10 honorable-mention photos will be featured in an online exhibition.

The National Portrait Gallery is part of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture at Eighth and F streets N.W., Washington, D.C. Website: npg.si.edu
