Cincinnati Museum Center announces 2013 Difference Maker nominees

Sixth Annual Difference Maker Awards dinner Nov. 7 at Union Terminal featuring community honoree PNC Grow Up Great

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati Museum Center announced today the 2013 Duke Energy Children’s Museum Difference Maker nominees, celebrating the greater Cincinnati region’s thriving spirit of giving and dedication to children. Forty-three outstanding individuals and organizations were recognized for going above and beyond to better the lives of children.

“The Duke Energy Children’s Museum Difference Maker nominees include unsung heroes, small community organizations and budding child advocates, along with powerhouse agencies and individuals who all deserve recognition for the Difference Makers they truly are,” stated Douglass W. McDonald, CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “We are honored to take time each year to recognize these heroes in our community.”

These outstanding nominees will be recognized for their hard work and dedication at the Sixth Annual Difference Maker Awards dinner on Nov. 7. Join us to honor their efforts and recognize the finalists selected by a panel of community volunteers and previous Difference Makers. In addition, we will celebrate the 2013 Difference Maker Community Honoree, PNC Grow Up Great.

The dinner and awards presentation will be held at 6pm on Nov. 7 at Union Terminal. Tickets are on sale now; $45 Individual ticket for adults and $25 for children, $500 table (10 tickets). RSVPs are requested by Oct 29, 2013. For reservations, please call (513) 287-7001 or buy tickets online.

Difference Maker Free Friday-Nov. 1
As part of our Difference Maker celebration, Cincinnati Museum Center will host a special “Free Friday” on Nov. 1, in honor of the Difference Maker nominees. Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Cincinnati History Museum and the Museum of Natural History & Science will be open free from 4 until 8 p.m. Metro is joining the celebration by providing free rides to and from Cincinnati Museum Center on Metro Rt. 1 during extended hours from 4 to 9 p.m on Nov. 1, and for the celebration dinner on Nov. 7.

2013 Difference Maker Nominees
These individuals and organizations have been nominated by their peers and members of the community who have seen their hard work and selfless dedication to children. Nominee categories include: Youth (17 and younger), adult – volunteer, adult – professional, business and non-profit organization.
