Discover The Work And Legacy Of Frank Lloyd Wright And Abraham Lincoln On The Foundry Art Centre’s Two Pioneers Bus Tour

imageSt. Charles, MO – A pioneer is a person who develops new ideas and methods; the Two Pioneers Bus Tour will explore the lives and work of two famous Midwestern pioneers: Frank Lloyd Wright and Abraham Lincoln. Hosted by the Foundry Art Centre, the bus tour will start in St. Charles and travel north to visit various architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright’s in Oak Park, Illinois and then culminate at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, Illinois. Experience five destinations on this weekend tour August 23-24, 2014. The price of the bus tour includes all transportation and toll fees, all entrance fees, and one-night’s lodging at the Embassy Suites in Lombard, Illinois. The trip is limited to 48 people so don’t delay in signing up! The cost is $175 per person for double occupancy or $225 per person for single occupancy.

The Foundry Art Centre is a fine arts gallery overlooking the Missouri River at 520 North Main Center, in the Frenchtown district of Historic St. Charles. The Foundry features a Smithsonian-caliber art gallery hosting national juried exhibitions plus 20 working art studios where visitors can watch the creative process and buy art directly from the artists. The not-for-profit art centre also provides community meeting rooms, event space and a children’s art gallery. Hours are Tuesday – Thursday from 10-8pm, Friday and Saturday from 10-5pm, and Sunday 12-4. Admission is free, and donations are welcome.
