Now, for the first time ever, soar high above the ancient city and explore the iconic sites cherished by billions like never before in this inspiring Omnimax experience. Jerusalem opens in the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater on October 10.

Jerusalem film“Jerusalem is a city that everyone knows of but few truly understand because it means so many different things to so many different people,” says Dave Duszynski, vice president at Cincinnati Museum Center. “This film is not just a captivating film visually, it is also very enlightening and will mesmerize audiences with the depth of information presented in such an accessible way.”
Jerusalem gives audiences a rare glimpse into the ancient, storied city through exclusive images. Filmmakers were granted special permission in the region’s strict no-fly zone, enabling them to capture the first-ever large format aerial footage of the Old City and throughout the Holy Land. With exclusive access to iconic holy sites across the city, Jerusalem will take you to the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Dome of the Rock, the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee and the mountain fortress of Masada.
“Through the unrivaled beauty, visceral nature and incredible technology of the giant screen format, you feel as if you are experience Jerusalem up-close and first-hand,” said writer/director Daniel Ferguson.
The home of three major religions, Jerusalem stirs the hearts, spirits and imaginations of billions.
“This film offers a captivating perspective on Jerusalem – a sacred place for Jews, Christians and Muslims,” says Sarah Weiss, director of the Jewish Community Relations Council. “The beauty of the film is complemented by the enlightening personal stories of three young women of different faiths, sharing a strong connection to the same place, offering us hope amidst complexity.”
For those of the Jewish faith, Jerusalem represents their homeland. Every synagogue in the world faces Jerusalem and three times a days, Jews pray towards the temples that once stood above the Western Wall. For Christians, Jerusalem is the place where Jesus was arrested and sentenced to death, following the “Way of Sorrows” on his way to crucifixion. To Muslims, it is the city of prophets, where Mohammed ascended to Heaven on a ladder of light, which they associate with the Dome of the Rock, after a miraculous journey from Mecca to Jerusalem.
“Jerusalem is a beautifully done piece that not only shares one of the world’s most beloved cities for the Abrahamic faiths but opens the door for regional community leaders, neighbors, educators and students to build understanding between Judaism, Christianity and Islam,” says Shakila Ahmad, president and board chair of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati.
Audiences will also follow Dr. Jodi Magness, renowned archaeologist and religious studies professor, as she walks through ancient tunnels below the city. The tunnels carried water into the biblical-era city from outside the walls in the event the city was under siege by an invading army. She also tours excavations around the Western Wall, marveling at one of the greatest feats of engineering in the ancient world.
Jerusalem is a city of many religions and an important crossroads of civilization. Through breathtaking aerial footage, eye-opening personal stories and remarkable historical perspective, Jerusalem takes you inside the heart of the ancient city in ways never seen before.
“This film is ideal for anyone who aspires to or has experienced the magnificence of Jerusalem,” adds Weiss. “Thank you to Cincinnati Museum Center for bringing this documentary to our community.”
