The Celestial Gala Will Bring Out the Stars Who Support the Michener Art Museum

(Doylestown, PA) The James A. Michener Art Museum’s Board of Trustees and Lisa Tremper Hanover, Director and CEO, invite the community to participate in this year’s spectacular event The Celestial Gala. The black tie fundraiser, being held at the Michener on Saturday, November 1, 2014, promises gourmet dining, dancing within a star-studded galactic theme, and a few surprises for guests. Co-Chaired by Beth Beans Gilbert and Bruce Norman Long, the event will support the Museum’s exhibitions and education programs for the coming year.

Lisa Tremper Hanover, Director and CEO of the Michener states, ” The Celestial Gala is an opportunity to have a splendid evening under the stars and to support one of the community’s cultural jewels. This investment is critical to our ability to share exhibitions and programs of the highest caliber.” The Gala is being held in conjunction with the unique exhibition, Starstruck: The Fine Art of Astrophotography, opening Saturday, November 8. Starstruck: The Fine Art of Astrophotography is among the first major exhibitions treating astrophotography as an art genre and presents new scholarship in this rapidly-evolving field.

The evening will include special musical guests the Sermon! The group is fresh off their landmark performance at the Diner en Blanc in Philadelphia earlier this year. Dinner will be artfully prepared by Stephen STARR Events in a dazzlingly unique environment created by Rusty Thomas Event Designs. The Celestial Gala marks Stephen STARR Events’ debut in Bucks County.
