Chippewa Valley Museum (CVM) Announces New Director

The Chippewa Valley Museum (CVM) is proud to announce that Julie Bunke has been hired as the museum’s new director. She will replace Susan McLeod, who is retiring after more than 30 years as CVM’s director.

Ms. Bunke brings 18 years of museum experience, including 14 years in a leadership position. Most recently she served as executive director and curator at the St. Charles Heritage Center in St. Charles, Illinois. In St. Charles, she held a wide variety of responsibilities, from collections management and exhibit design to fundraising and writing grant applications. The St. Charles Heritage Center received numerous awards from the Illinois Association of Museums during her tenure.

Bunke also spent three years as museum supervisor at the Downers Grove Park District Museum in Downers Grove, Illinois, which included managing the daily operations at two house museums.
