Diversity in Baseball Media Preview at Freedom Center

Cincinnati, OH – On Thursday, June 25 from 1-3 p.m., the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center invites the media for a special preview of Diversity in Baseball, which opens to the public Friday, June 26. Through powerful stories and compelling illustrations, Diversity in Baseball highlights the unique history of America’s favorite pastime. This exhibit celebrates players who broke barriers and changed the game, making it more inclusive and reflective of America’s diverse make-up. Jackie Robinson, Dottie Schroeder, Toni Stone and Kevin Youkilis are just a few of the players that are featured. A baseball diamond, complete with a pitcher’s mound and a dugout, are also part of the exhibit experience. Media have the opportunity to meet and interact with an actor portraying and sharing the experience of a player featured in the exhibit.

Diversity in Baseball was curated by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center with the support of presenting sponsor Macy’s and supporting sponsors P&G, Tom Schiff, Lightborne, Nielsen, John Pepper and PNC.
