Michener Art Museum Uncorks Fifth Biennial The Art Of Wine

(Doylestown, PA) The James A. Michener Art Museum will once again host the much anticipated The Art of Wine fête on Saturday, October 17, 2015. This distinctive wine-themed event, a signature fundraiser for the Michener, blends an unforgettable evening of fine wines, extraordinary cuisine and lively auctions. The event helps raise critical support for the Museum’s exhibitions and educational programs.

This year’s Honorary Co-Chairs for The Art of Wine are Louis and Carol Della Penna. The event committee includes Barbara Belding, Barbara Donnelly Bentivoglio, Bob Byers, Sr., Maureen and Gregory Church, Eliot Clark, Kathy Fernberger, Jane Ford-Hutchinson, Lisa Tremper Hanover, Kristina Harshany, Mary Helf, Carol Nelson, David Rago, Liz Rizor, Pamela Sergey, and Virginia W. Sigety.

Guests will enjoy a special Vintner’s Reception in the galleries that will showcase premier wineries such as Alain Blanchon Selection, Duckhorn Wine Company, Flowers Vineyards & Winery, Louis Latour, Inc., St. Francis Winery and Vineyards and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. During the reception guests may participate in the silent auction that includes more than 50 lots featuring wine and wine-related items, art, jewelry and more.

Dinner will feature a four-course gourmet menu created by Catering By Design. Specially chosen wine pairings from acclaimed Flowers Vineyards & Winery, situated on the rugged northern California Sonoma coast and founded by Walt and Joan Flowers, originally from Bucks County, will accompany each course. The evening’s ambience will be enhanced with stunning floral arrangements by Doylestown Floribunda.

This festive occasion culminates in a live auction presided over by auctioneers and wine aficionados David Rago and Suzanne Perrault, partners and co-directors, of Rago Arts and Auction Center in Lambertville, NJ. The live auction features Pennsylvania impressionist art, exclusive wine lots from private cellars, exciting destination opportunities, unique gifts and select packages.
