The program enables low-income families to visit CBMM for a minimal fee of $3 per person for up to four people with the presentation of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and photo ID. The special rate is good for general admission to the non-profit museum, which includes access to the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse and numerous exhibition buildings covering the history, environment, and people of the entire Chesapeake Bay region.

“Participating in Museums for All is part of CBMM’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all,” said CBMM President Kristen Greenaway. “It helps toward our goal of reaching more children and parents-especially those less fortunate-with the valuable learning resources of the museum. In Talbot County alone, we have 4,567 Independence Card participants, and now they and others can have more accessibility to our campus to enjoy with their families, while strengthening their connection to the Chesapeake Bay in meaningful ways.”

Through Museums for All, families can visit any participating museum year-round for a minimal fee, with details found at www.museums4all.org.

Established in 1965, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is a world-class maritime museum dedicated to preserving and exploring the history, environment and people of the entire Chesapeake Bay, with the values of relevancy, authenticity, and stewardship guiding its mission. Serving more than 70,000 guests each year, the museum’s campus includes a floating fleet of historic boats and 12 exhibition buildings, situated on 18 waterfront acres along the Miles River and St. Michaels’ harbor.
