Pushkin Hills is the story of an unsuccessful writer and inveterate alcoholic who takes a summer job at the Pushkin Hills Preserve in hopes of regaining some balance in his life, only to experience a further unraveling. The New York Review of Books called Pushkin Hills one of Dovlatovs greatest contributions to Russian literature.
