“Honoring the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is very important to us at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center,” says Dr. Clarence G. Newsome, president. “As we look at our nation and reflect on how far we have come, and clearly how far we have yet to go, King’s dream hasn’t been completely realized. We invite the community to come to this special place to celebrate a man’s legacy, inspire hope, and honor our common humanity. All are welcome.”
