Learn to winterize your boat engine at The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum this fall

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md., has planned two workshops to help boaters prepare their engines for the winter season this fall.

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Decommissioning Your Outboard Motor will teach participants how to safely winterize their motor. A second workshop, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 18, will do the same for boats with inboard gasoline engines.

Both workshops will be led by Josh Richardson, CBMM’s new marine mechanic. Richardson comes to CBMM with 15 years of experience working in marine mechanics, and is a graduate of the Marine Mechanics Institute of Orlando, Fla.

Each workshop costs $30 for CBMM members and $45 for non-members. To register for the outboard motor workshop, visit bit.ly/CBMM_Outboard. To register for the inboard workshop, visit bit.ly/CBMM_Inboard. For a list of all upcoming boatyard programs, visit cbmm.org
