National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Announces New Board Members & Officers

CINCINNATI, OH – The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors, as well as two new officer appointments.

Joining the board of directors are Jamahal Boyd and Sarah Tomes.

Jamahal Boyd, of Cincinnati, is the director of diversity, inclusion and language services at TriHealth where he establishes the business case for diversity through a focus on healthcare disparities and workforce development. He also plays a vital role in strengthening supplier diversity strategy in collaboration with TriHealth’s executive team and supply chain leadership. Boyd is a National Board Member, serving as the current Co-Chair of the Public Policy Committee and Past President of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) – Delaware Valley Chapter. In 2006, he received the Young Executive of the Year Award from NAHSE. Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Delaware State University.

Sarah Tomes, of Cincinnati, is the chief executive officer at LPK where she oversees a staff of highly diverse teams across five international offices. She began her career with LPK as a finance co-op in 1996 and rose through the ranks, building global brands across industries and categories. Sarah was recently selected to participate in the 39th class of Leadership Cincinnati, the premier leadership development program in the Greater Cincinnati region. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Thomas More College.

Martin Mooney of Frost Brown Todd LLC was elected to the board officer position of Vice Chair. Mary Liz Finn, retired chief human resources officer at Nielsen, was elected to the board officer position of Secretary.

Dr. John Bryant, Alfonso Cornejo, Thomas Crain and Leslie Kreines are rotating off of the board of directors as of December 31, 2017.
