Art Envi Impressionist iPhone App Free for Birth of Impressionism Exhibition at the de Young Museum

Open Door Networks Inc. and Project A Inc. (“We-Envision”) today announced that their Art Envi Impressionist iPhone app will be free for the next week, to celebrate the opening tomorrow of the “Birth of Impressionism” exhibition at the de Young Fine Art Museum in San Francisco. The de Young is one of only three sites worldwide to host the major exhibit of Impressionist Art from the d’Orsay Museum in Paris. Users can register the free app to win copies of the companies’ top-of-the-line Art Authority app for iPad, iPhone and Macintosh.

Art Envi Impressionist organizes and displays key works of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist art by artist and nationality. Works, accessed from key Web sites, are displayed full-screen, in scrolling thumbnail arrays, and Ken Burns motion effect moving pictures. Background information on artists and the period is also available.

Art Authority, specifically designed for Apple’s groundbreaking iPad, brings 40,000 high-resolution classic works of art to iPad users’ fingertips. The app, which includes a full “room” devoted to Impressionist art, stunningly displays paintings and sculptures by over 1000 major western artists from ancient times to today. The top-10 reference app (for both iPad and iPhone) is part world-class art museum, part academic reference library and part digital coffee-table book.

Most of the works from the exhibition are accessible through both Art Envi Impressionist and Art Authority. The apps are key components of the companies’ line of over 100 “Envi” Web-image browsing apps. Available in the iTunes App Store since that store opened, “Envi” apps display Web-based images of all varieties, from art to cars to haircuts to parks to quilts to space and beyond. Details are available from the companies’ Web site.
