Children’s Art Day At The Royal Air Force Museum

On 17th July the museum will be participating in Children’s Art Day by offering children from ages 3 and above the opportunity to discover their artistic skills through a series of art workshops.

These 4 FREE workshops will run throughout the day and will enable children to explore the art contained within the Museum’s collection before applying their new knowledge into their design work. So prebooking is required by calling our Access and Learning Team on 0208 358 4896. Please note that all children participating in each session will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The sessions are divided into 2 activities: ‘Flying Colours’ and ‘Art in the RAF’

In ‘Flying Colours’ children aged 3 to 7 will be taken on a brief tour of the museum’s collection of camouflage, nose and tail art before being invited to design their own piece of aircraft art using a variety of media including pencils, crayons and finger paints.

In ‘Art and the RAF’ children aged 8 and above will explore the art in our art gallery before creating their own RAF themed poster art.

Session Times are as follows:
For Flying Colours (ages 3 to 7) – 10:30 am to 11:30 am and 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm. A maximum of 20 children per session.

For Art and the RAF (ages 8+) – 11.45 am to 1pm and 3.45 pm to 5pm. A maximum of 30 children per session.

Registrations are on a strictly first come, first served basis. For further details please call 0208 358 4896 between 10am and 5.30pm Monday to Sunday.
