Museum participating in science programs for children in Abu Dhabi
SEATTLE – Three members of The Museum of Flight educational staff are now part of an entertaining public program in Abu Dhabi designed to promote science to children. “Reach for the Sky” was produced by Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy and Mubadala Aerospace, with daily science shows by the Sesame Workshop and The Museum of Flight.
The Sesame Workshop uses live performances with Sesame Street characters to foster interest in science, astronomy and space travel. The Museum of Flight brings its popular “Flying Gizmo Show” and Apollo Moon School to the program. The Flying Gizmo Show uses flying toys and models to help children discover the science and history of flight and wing design. The Apollo Moon School delves into the history and operations of rocketry and robotics with a live, hands-on approach. “Reach for the Sky” is on-going during the month of Ramadan 2010.
