A+D and AIA/LA in celebrating the work of Los Angeles architects
This annual exhibit, open through October 27, 2010 showcases submissions for the 2010 Design Awards (built projects) and NEXT LA Awards (unbuilt projects), projects commissioned by the City of Los Angeles (Cultural Affairs Commission, CAC, Awards) and green projects (Architectural Foundation Los Angeles, AFLA). An opening reception was held Friday, September 10th and included a conversation with the Design Awards and NEXT LA programs juries, moderated by Edward Lifson.
The annual AIA Los Angeles Design Awards & Exhibit honors excellence in work built by Los Angeles architects (Design Awards) as well as work by Los Angeles Architects as yet unbuilt (Next LA Awards). In both the Design and Next LA categories, jury awards are given in three classifications: Citation, Merit, and Honor. The Design Awards juries, which are comprised of notable architects from across the United States and abroad, are selected by Committee, and change annually. Award will be announced and celebrated at the AIA/LA Awards Party presented by Italian Living|Umbria on Wednesday, October 27 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
