Akron Art Museum Announces Trick-or-Treat on South High Street

Ghosts, goblins and galleries, oh my! Fall means it’s once again time for the Akron Art Museum’s annual Trick-or-Treat on South High Street event, Thursday, October 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Bring the kids down and enjoy a scavenger hunt in the museum galleries and FREE hands-on art making activities. A themed costume contest is also part of the evening, and kids are encouraged to take inspiration from art featured in the museum’s collection:

Rock Star!: Inspired by Andy Warhol’s Elvis and Robert Stanley’s ‘Monster Mash’ (Beach Boys) • Go crazy and rock it out with a costume that channels your inner musician.

Fancy Pants: Inspired by William Merritt Chase’s Girl in White • The girl in this painting dressed in her fanciest outfit, and you should, too! Dress up in the swankiest suit, gown or jewels you can find.

Pop Culture Products: Inspired by Andy Warhol’s Brillo Box • Andy Warhol used objects from everyday life like soup cans and cleaning products to inspire his work. Take a page from his book and come dressed as a tube of toothpaste, a bag of potato chips or even your favorite bubble gum. The options are endless!

This event is free for members and non-members, however registration is encouraged. Special BOGO admission offer for accompanying adults. Register online at www.AkronArtMuseum.org. For more information call 330.376.9186 x247.
