Richard Avedon, Peter Blake, Willem De Kooning, Robert Indiana, Bert Stern, and Andy Warhol are among the more than 80 artists featured in the exhibition. Over 300 works capture Marilyn’s rise to stardom in styles ranging from vintage fashion photography to contemporary Pop Art. The exhibition also includes Warhol’s personal Marilyn archival collection as well as paintings and prints from The Warhol’s collection.

Marilyn Monroe: Life as a Legend celebrates the many sides of this 1950s glamour goddess and immortal legend through shots of movie scenes and familiar publicity photos, biographical glimpses into Marilyn’s private moments as well as more abstract interpretations of Marilyn. There will never be another Marilyn Monroe as shown by this all-star list of renowned and diverse artists paying tribute to America’s favorite sex symbol.

Life as a Legend was curated by Artoma, Hamburg, Germany and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC.
