The appeal was launched on 30 October 2010.
In October 2008 Keswick Museum and Art Gallery received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to carry out some enhancements to the museum.
The museum is now on the final leg of the journey but still needs to obtain £137,000 of matched funding before the project can go ahead.
The enhancements will include toilets, a cafe on the lower ground level that faces Fitz Park, a larger education space for visiting schools and groups, and the building itself will receive some vital renovation. More importantly a new heating system will mean that the museum will be able to open all year and will not have to close for the winter as at present.
