The Phillips Collection presents a lecture by sculptor Antony Gormley on Tues., Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Prominent British sculptor Antony Gormley is best known for iron sculptures cast from his own body and placed in a variety of surroundings. Horizon Field, his most recent work, positions 100 life-size cast iron statues of the human body in the Austrian Alps. In this lecture, presented by the Phillips’s Center for the Study of Modern Art, Gormley addresses the centrality of art in the human experience.
